Information You Send
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the result. Odessa Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those search terms. If you contact us, we receive the contents of your message and use them to respond.
Automatically Collected Data
Hosting systems may record normal server-log information, including an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. We review it in aggregate for site operation and readership patterns. Cookies or similar tools can support basic analytics and advertising measurement where used.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to operate and repair the service, measure traffic, and improve the reference pages. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
Links to Other Websites
We link out to county and state records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Their privacy policies, not ours, govern what you submit there. That is especially true of the sponsored search results, which a third-party company provides.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on your circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain processing by covered businesses under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act. Because this site retains very little, a request generally means checking the contact mailbox and available logs, then removing what is found. Use the Contact page. Texas, Ector County, and Odessa public records are held by their custodians, so a request to alter one must go to that office.
Policy Updates
We will post revisions to this policy here. Continued use after a posted revision means you accept the changed policy.
